    Jarheads Movie revue!

Well I just went a saw Jarheads this morning and well my opinion is; possably a good rental if bored.

There was zero action and the movie almost didnt make sence.

Very disapointing. There was good acting but it just didnt go anywhere.

Save your money if you were planning on seeing it.

My friend you just summed up what it was like to be in the Marines in just two sentences!!!

There was zero action, and it never made any sense!!
I am sure the Marines in Iraq are now getting some action, but for the most part that's what it's like, nothing you do makes any sense, and when you do something it's stupid....

If you read the book before seeing the movie, it will probably make a lot more sense. I've yet to see the film, but I very much enjoyed the book (I literally couldn't put it down; I devoured it in one or two sittings), and I thought it was a thoroughly interesting and authentic account of the life of a soldier. It is ludicrously obscene, very funny, occasionally tragic, and devastatingly honest. How many hotshot Marines would be willing to publically admit that, on multiple occasions, they pissed their pants during enemy artillery strikes? One reviewer summed up the film nicely: "Jarhead is about how the experience of being in the military fundamentally changes an individual. In this case, the focus isn't about the madness of slaughter in the jungle, but the madness of inaction in the desert."

The same guy who stars in Jarhead will soon appear as a gay cowboy (isn't that an oxymoron?) in Brokeback Mountain (or is it Bareback Mounting?). Watch out for gay mania come this year's Academy Awards. Might we expect a tearful, ridiculously overwrought acceptance speech reminiscent of Halle Berry's? "Oh my God! Oh my God! This moment is so much bigger than me. It's for every nameless, faceless person of alternative sexual orientation that now has a chance because this door tonight has been opened." Okay, I can accept the possibility that there is a closeted homosexual rancher somewhere in Wyoming, but two in the same town? Give me a break.

Unfortunately, Jake Gyllenhall has joined the ranks of actors like Viggo Mortensen, Robin Williams, Sean Penn, and Susan Sarandon whose films I will not pay to see as I strongly disagree with their leftist views and refuse to support their political agendas with my ticket money.

It's a shame as I thought Donnie Darko was an original movie and had hopes for Jake's career.

Just play a person with a physical or mental disability or disease and you're a shoe-in for an Oscar.

I still think Brad Pitt should've won for 12 Monkeys.

    Sean Penn FTW!

His depiction of a Katrina rescuer this year was GRIPPING! Two thumbs up!

At first glance, I thought some guy was holding a pepper mill out in front of him.
