Some BF2 Questions

1. The server you guys run on a [AK] only thing or can the wow guildies but non [AK] folks participate?

2. Is it a monthly thing like WoW with its own servers or you host your own?

3. Which game you guys play? Just BF2 or BF2 special forces?

4. Any other information i need to know if i was to go pick up a copy?

Not sure what your asking in #1. As for [AK] running a BF server, we do not. I wish we did! CoughPalookaCough!

In ventrilo BF channel, I'm sure anyone can join it if playing.

#2 There are no moronic monthly charges like WOW. You buy it, you own it and can play anytime. Yes ANYTIME lol

3. Nuts and I play mostly Special Forces. There have been a few AK's recently playing only BF2. Hopefully they upgrade

4. You can find deals now on BF2. isn't very expensive.

I'd be happy to put my BF2 server back into operation. It wouldn't be ranked, though--I know you guys love to run on that level treadmill.

Beast, forgive my noobness here, but what does it mean to have your server ranked?

Also, it would be pretty cool to have an AK server going, but I would not want you to do it if it will cost a bunch or take up a lot of your time.

Thanks beast! I also was wondering what it would take to make it a ranked server. Many people do not play on non ranked servers due to the ranking system. Also, do you have Special forces? That is what we have been mostly playing.


We would love to have a AK BF2 server. This would hopefully get more AK members involved also.

Ranked servers count towards your medals, rank, and weapon unlocks. They also cost money, ergo I won't be running one.

Unranked servers do not count, they're just for running and gunning. You can use the weapons you've unlocked, you just won't be able to unlock more that way. But the unranked server software is a free download. I had one running once before the WOW craze took off; I could probably put it back up fairly easily. Just not sure if it would have Special Forces in it, either.

As for the ranking part, I can always spend some time on the ranking servers to unlock stuff. but, I think it would be very cool to have our own server to run and gun, plus we can maintain some sanity on it then too...

Another reason why this whole game leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Ranked servers? We didn't need no ranked servers back in the ol' BF1942 days! Just a scheme by the makers to sap more money out of you!
