Just curious, who is buying this?

Unfortunately you can only offer ranked servers with one of their licensed gamer server providers. Most of them are around $2 per player for a public server, or $1.75 per player for a private server.

Not terribly surprising. Same racket EA ran with Battlefield 2. I guess I can understand the need for quality control for servers tied into their central data stores, though.

I went to Best Buy today to purchase Quake Wars but I was turned down due to they had no copies at that store They had it across town but I was not going that way any time soon. I am very torn. I am so happy you guys are all getting on board with this game but I am dieing waiting for Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare which will be released in the first week of November. This game is probably the first game in years that I have been excited about.

I am so strapped for cash though. Ill probably wait another week till I get Quake Wars
