Any old BSG fans in here?

Are any of you planning to watch the new Battle Star Galactica mini-series on SciFi starting tomorrow night? I was a hug BSG fan when I was a kid and even though i don't like the way they've messed with the characters for this mini-series, I'm still planning to watch it and see how they did with the overall story lines.

I'm hopeful "Santa" is bringing the Full original series on DVD for Christmas.

I'll be watching. I want to see if they use the same 3 video cuts of the fighters in space over and over again.

LOL - At least that would be authentic.

I heard the premise behind this series is that they are 'retiring' the original Galactica, but they are finding the newest weapons on the newly developed Battlestars have been adapted to by the Cylons, so they 'un-retire' the old Galactica to do battle. Will be interesting to see if that is the case or not. I've read quite a few 'rumors' and story lines over the last view months.

Just won't be the same though with Starbuck as a woman.

    And ole Phallus head Twiki.

Anyway, regarding Battletar Galactica, I'm not such an uber-geek fanboy that I demand adherance to the old (overrated) show that I loved as a kid. I have no problem with them updating it for 2003, taking major liberties as needed.

    Mmmm....liberties

I'll reserve my judgement until after tomorrow night. I'm not totally against it either, although I think sticking to the original story line with the characters would have been a great way to go.

Besides... seeing a female Cylon having sex, who isn't intrigued?

I wonder if her voice is like the other Cylons? I can just imagine her in the height of extasy screaming my name in the Cylon voice... Ughh.... I guess I can get some ear muffs. She'd be worth it.

I remember one Christmas, I got a BSG "shooter". It was the launchpad that shot out the BSG fighters, and you had to hit cardboard Cylon fighters targets with it. That was cool. I'll be watching this tonight...

Anyone else watch episode one last night?

I thought it was some pretty darn good sci-fi. The new Starbuck chick was a bit over the top for me, but everything else seemed really cool. New cylons looked cool although we didn't get to see much of them. The cylong chick was pretty damn hot. Good story. Good special effects.

    Thoughts?
